TRENDS YOU SHOULD TRY AT LEAST ONCE

I have just received the newest e-newsletter from Emerald Street, the wanna-be hip e-page, sister or off-spring of Stylist, the free weekly London fashion paper.
Where I like the latter, I am still trying to find positive things about the former. Were it a look, I would describe it as strange, odd, neither good, nor bad, just plain boringly on the sidelines. Honestly speaking, that's never a good thing.
So for this article here I have now clicked for the first time on a link and was brought for the very first time to the website.
The article that tickled my frustration and even anger is called "Trends You Should Try at Least Once". I am not surprised that the author has not declared him- or herself known as the suggestions and the corresponding pictures are simply painful. This must come from someone who either hates people, or hates him-/herself or hates the job that he or she doles out unacceptable suggestions like this.
Apart from the sequin top all the other suggestions especially the first (clashing prints) are beyond good.
It's interesting to note that the audience here that seems to be addressed are all non-fashion knowledgable folks, who are slightly overweight, have no time for fun (clearly they are reading this, which is a strong indication for this) and who have never earned a dime before they had their first ever office job (is this an achievement now?).
Technically speaking, the trend for clashing prints exists, though the pictures supplied depict an ensemble that looks unflattering and sloppy. Further, if I had been consulted in suggesting "trends" for the un-initited in fashion styles, I would have started with one print rather than overpowering the beginner with an assortment of clashes, which in the supplied case here do not even work.
Finally, the suggestion of donning the "chic" olive green merino wool sweater by COS is unbelievably insulting considering that the target audience is here a slightly overweight reader. The very wrong suggestion for someone slightly overweight. The suggested sweater is neither chic (are you kidding?) nor green, its simply olive (this does not need a color affirmation). And its cut is unflattering for anyone beyond a US size 4 or a UK size 8.
