Stripes by Oscar de la Renta & Michael Kors

Stripes are a chic way of being classy as well as casual.
Oscar de la Renta takes this idea and twists it for spring; thus creating classy, Dior-esque silhouettes but with a modern twist: stripes in ultra luxe fabrics.

Now take the super fabulous Michael Kors, whose take on chic Americana leaves me hungry for more every season.
He is the star of creating effortless, chic and, especially, easy to wear essentials.
I love the above spring-summer 2013 ad, which showcases Michael Kors's take on women and their immense power in mind and body. The peek-a-boo lets us see whats beneath; just enough to know that this is no wallflower but a woman who doesn't mind showing off her body and what's beneath. It is all intentionally and seemingly unstaged. And at the same time we know that Karmen Pedaru didn't just happen to lounge around with a large white Michael Kors bag dangling on her wrist and leaving her skirt zip COMPLETELY undone.
Still it's her sideways look 'as if' she does not bother looking into the watchful eyes of the camera but rather to someone off camera? The director/producer/Michael? Telling her not to care....
And it works.
The 'right' thoughts come to my mind when I glance at this stimulating tableau.
She is facing the breeze letting it blow her hair out of her face.
Again, a subtle wink at strong, independent women facing head-on the winds...
But alas.
Love you Michael.
Brilliant stripes is all I care about.
