Pencil skirts are a fail safe staple in every woman's closet. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, it is the time of prints (http://www.thechiccritic.com/2012/03/reeds-prints.html). Above I have picked two pencil skirts with prints. I have found both on the eternally amazing Net-a-Porter.com. The look on the top is by Lela Rose and the look on the bottom is by Jil Sander. I love the Lela Rose skirt as well as the styling with the beige sandals and red top. The Jil Sander skirt is a different issue. The paisley print is interesting enough to draw me in. Though the proportions of the skirt do not work -even on a tall model such as above, who is wearing heels. The skirt should have been cropped - either to a mini-skirt length or to an above-the-knee length - to give it a sense of belonging.
The most beautiful item, even from a great and talented designer, can still fall short if the item lacks proportion.
