I came across this Marc Jacobs spring 2012 look, which is currently in the sale -not surprised about that!-, on ssense.com and took a double take as its so unpleasantly painful. The color 'mint' is not even the dominating problem here. But let's make this clear, the sweater top is nothing special. It might have been an Adidas sweater for the new spring season celebrating the joy of spring and then it looks quite chunky on the model, so imagining it on anyone else, is probably not going to end positively.
Now to this skirt or rather lower part of the look above. What?
Marc is a clever and highly creative person, no doubt about that. As a matter of fact, I have come to think that -as he is so wildly successful and good at what he does for Louis Vuitton, he surely must not give too much of a bother about his namesake line in NY considering the looks that he has sent down the runway.
Thus, he is literally running wild - just take a look yourself at his previous designs from different seasons and you will see that none of the presented 'creations' are anything that is remotely wearable.
By 'wearable' I mean making the wearer look better not worse.
If a design makes the wearer look worse, then that says a lot about the designer and the design.
And the model above simply does not look good, nor acceptable.
