Cameron Russell for H&M by David Roemer

I have been a fan of Cameron ever since I saw her on TED. What a truly inspiring woman. Beautiful on the outside, for sure, but with such a great ability to reflect and deconstruct her own image, even crash it, in front of my eyes, the audience's eyes. This has been mind blowing to say the least.
It is worth the odd 10mins. I venture to say that Cameron has gained notoriety ever since giving that talk as she was and still is booked a lot more than before for big campaigns - just as the one above by H&M.
I like to see companies embracing the image she stands for: someone with 10/10 points for supermodel looks, but also someone who is vulnerable and most importantly someone who is unafraid to say so.
We are all human. What makes us so is that we are not all good or all perfectly beautiful or completely happy. No, we have -at best- a balanced self of good things and bad things, happy moments and sad moments, beautiful days and not so good days. But those days, where we experience those darker, deeper, sadder moments, are what make the beautiful days that much more beautiful because we are able to taste their utter sweetness that much more. If we never went through hardship, doubts, sadness, we would never learn to be thankful for the sun that will always rise again after a rainy day.
