When I received Matches' e-newsletter titled "New Designers for 2012", I was curious to see what they had found that was worthwhile and special enough for the rest of us to take note of too. Above I have picked one of their suggestions, J W Anderson, to make a point of what not to choose of those new designs. The look is interesting and different, quite sunny, funny and easy, evocative of holidays and pure pleasure. The cut is not bad either. It is streamlined, clean and simple. Enough with the positives though. The fabric is just painful to take in. The worst is the attached curtain-piece on the top's bottom reminding yet again that design is an art as much as it is a skill. Had this been in a different fabric as well as with another attachment, it might have worked beautifully.
