Who would have thought she could do chic goth?
There is something utterly otherworldly chic here with those glossy black lips, the fluttery lashes and the huge open fur collar. I love the look for being so stark, so densely removed from any colour (=life), friendliness and social intrigue but yet it draws me in because it is precisely all of those things.
Kafka was not understood during his time because his thinking and writing were so wildly deep, provocative and dynamically innovative. Only many years later people stared passionately admiring and even worshipping his talent, his genius and significance: he dared and utterly risked all to share his inner most understanding of what life is = those unspoken -as sometimes or rather most often- not consciously accessible meanings of life.
Dior is the personification of this spirit to me.
