I have fallen in love with orange. Never before has it crossed my mind to venture into citrus territory. Ever since this spring/summer 2011 I have an interest in finding great orange fashions to incorporate into my wardrobe. Though I must warn, orange is not a colour one should use all-over, that is from top to bottom as it then becomes more of a visual shock rather than a visual pleasure. My new found love for all things citrus were certainly influenced by Stella McCartney's spring/summer 2011 citrus prints, which were then replicated by ZARA in various top/dress variations as many of you can recall.
I have found a fabulous dress by Victoria Beckham for spring/summer 2012 ready-to-wear accessorised with an orange Hermès-lookalike leather bag -très chic!
Dear readers, beware of donning these dominatrix boots in combination with this elegant dress. The colour of the boots rather collides against the dress. I would wear dainty ballerinas with a blue blazer on top and a bit of jewellery, voilà!
When choosing the right orange, go for strong orange tones that are rich in yellows and reds and not fluorescent screaming cheap. Fashionable orange combinations are orange with light/ dark grey or beige/caramel.
