The Wearstler Factor (posted on 18/08/2011)

The interiors design guru, Kelly Wearstler, has just launched a fashion collection exclusively available at Bergdorf Goodman.
I have been a long-time fan of Wearstler’s aesthetic shown in her quirky, stylish and most of all luxuriously chic designed interiors. Her new venture into fashion is certainly an intriguing decision to expand her style emporium.

In her new collection Wearstler seamlessly translates her graphic and modern style into wearable pieces that are infused with shots of bright colour. This collection is not for the shy ones of you as each look needs a bit of defiant confidence to be worn. With her fashion you will stand out in the crowd making a strong statement about your individuality. The pieces are unexpected, traditional at times with hemlines grazing the knee, but always effortless.
Dear reader, if you are looking to find the stringent tailoring of a YSL or L’Wren Scott piece, then Wearstler is not the answer. Her fashion aesthetic is more concerned about giving a woman a loosely tailored look -weightless, natural and graceful. Wearstler's collection is a lesson in cool style with easy pieces.

My favourites are the black and white dress/coat and the fur coat. Both are cut in an A-line shape with bracelet sleeves. Without the addition of a collar or the length in the sleeve, both pieces convey a super chic attitude.
